Registration is from 1 pm to 5pm on Saturday 23rd February at Race HQ, situated at the finish line at The Mall, Mount Maunganui.
If you cannot make it on Saturday afternoon and require registration 'on the day' - you are more than welcome to pick your race pack (and numbers etc) up on the morning of the race between 6.00am and 7.30am. You MUST e-mail us prior to the 24th of February to advise.
Course and Maps
The swim is a 400m swim, with the first wave starting at 8:30am. Competitors will be issued a coloured cap that corresponds with their wave start. They will enter the water and swim in a straight line down to and around the 400m buoy and then into the shore. Competitors will then jog/walk up the ramp and into transition which is based at the Salisbury Wharf end of The Mall.
Waves will start 4 minutes apart with all 12 waves having started by 9.14am.
Tide times for the day of the event are as follows: Low Tide = 9.14am and High Tide = 3.29pm
The cycle leg will go from the transition area along Pilot Bay down the Mall to Adams Avenue. Competitors will then turn right into Adams Avenue and proceed to Marine Parade. Once at Marine Parade competitors will then ride the length of Marine Parade up to shortly before the roundabout at the end of Marine Parade and Oceanbeach Road. They will turn here then return the way they came to transition.
The 4km run/walk leg consists of a 1 lap out and back course. Runners will go from the transition area along Pilot Bay down the Mall to Adams Avenue. They will then proceed to the left through the boat ramp onto Pilot Quay to the Mauao base track jetty. Here they will turn around a cone and head back to turn left onto Adam's Ave, then right onto Marine Parade to turn again at a cone at Grace Ave and return back along Marine Parade and Adams Ave, turning left onto and along The Mall towards Salisbury Wharf and the finish chute.
Age Groups & Swim/Start Waves
There will be 11 waves in total leaving 4 minutes apart from the start of the first wave at 8.30am. With 9 waves of individuals, 2 waves of mother/daughters (Wave 10 at 9.06am and Wave 11 at 9.10am) and Teams (Wave 12 at 9.14am).
Individuals and mother/daughters will be required to self/pre-select their wave at the time of entry. Teams will be automatically placed into Wave 12.
You will be asked to gather in your wave groups (identifiable by your swim cap colour) at the swim start, so please ensure you make your way down there with plenty of time.
We have special mother/daughter field at this event where any mothers (step mothers etc included) and daughters (step daughters etc) can enter and race as individuals , and pay a special race entry fee of $80 ($40 each). All participants in this category will start in Waves 10 and 11 at 9.06am and 9.10am.
Teams of 2 or 3 ladies may enter and will complete the course as a relay. Your team will be provided with an ankle bracelet transponder at registration and this must be be used by the swimmer, cyclist and runner (to ensure the timing mats record your times). Change over will take place where your cyclists bike is racked in transition. All swimmers of teams will start in Wave 12 at 9.14am.

Spot Prizes / Prize Giving
There will be plenty of fantastic spot prizes at the event. For some of you - this will mean a surprise in your registration pack and for others you'll find out at prize giving if you have been lucky! Prize giving will be held approx 15-20 minutes after the last woman has cross the finish line. Numbers will be picked at random. You MUST be present to receive your prize.
We have a breand new Corporate Challenge trophy this year. It will be awarded to the top company who's average time (across 5 times) is the fastest across all invidiauls, teams and mother/daughters racing as individuals. To be eligible you must have 5 or more employees participating in the event.
For the 2018 event we will have FREE photo's for you all. Photographers will be on course during the event - so make sure you smile at them! You will then be able to download them FREE OF CHARGE after the event by heading to photos4sale.
If your cancellation is received before 31 January: You will be refunded your entry fee LESS a $15 administration fee.
If your cancellation is received between 1 and 25 February: There will be NO refund.
Due to the fact that the 2018 event is now SOLD OUT - we cannot accept any transfer requests to different categories or to different participants.
The event will proceed wet or fine. If necessary, the course will be modified for safety reasons. Cancellation will be the last choice and a decision regarding this will be made by 7.30am. There will be no refunds if the event is cancelled.
